The village, steeped in history (13th-17th centuries), is built on a sunny hillside overlooking the river Couze, which supplies water power to the paper mills. Free parking nearby.

In the land of the bastides, at the gateway to the Périgord Noir and Périgord Pourpre regions, you'll be ideally situated to discover the wealth of our heritage, castles, villages and bastides, archaeological sites and hiking trails, and you can walk your 4-legged friend along the Couzeau river, 20 meters away as the crow flies. There are numerous hiking and mountain-biking trails from the village and several nearby villages, including Beaumont-du-Périgord and Lalinde, all listed in a guidebook that I can lend you.Boat trips (Bergerac, Beynac) and canoe-kayak hire on the Dordogne and Vézère rivers (from Limeuil 23 kms Le Buisson de Cadouin 21 kms and further upstream...)
