Renovated from an old barn, the gîte offers extremely spacious accommodation. With exposed beams, tiled floor and a light, airy feel throughout, the gîte has been finished to a high standard with all the equipment you would expect to find in a holiday rental of this quality. The downstairs area is open-plan. There is a modern fitted kitchen with range cooker, microwave, washing machine, dishwasher and a large central island unit. The dining table seats 6 comfortably and a high chair can be provided upon request. Three large, 3-seater sofas provide a comfortable seating area. There is Freesat (English) television, Wi-Fi, a DVD player and a range of DVDs, as well as a selection of books and board games. Upstairs there are two double bedrooms and one twin bedroom. Each of the bedrooms has its own en-suite (one of which has a bath as well as a shower). In the enclosed garden adjoining the gîte, there is a 9m x 4.5m solar-heated swimming pool for the exclusive use of guests.

The gîte is in a beautiful rural location only a couple of miles from the small town of St Savin, which is famous for its impressive Abbey, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1983. The larger towns of Chauvigny, Le Blanc and Montmorillon are all within easy driving distance and Poitiers is approximately 45 minutes away. The area is ideal for walking, with miles of signposted, off-road tracks. There are plenty of walks to choose from - across fields (often filled with sunflowers), through shaded woodland or alongside rivers. The quiet country lanes are ideal for road cycling and for those who prefer going off-road there is an extensive network of marked trails.Plenty of wildlife can be spotted in the countryside. There are deer, hares, red squirrels and wild boar. Lizards sun themselves on the walls, whilst butterflies fly around adding a splash of colour. Birds that have been spotted include woodpeckers, hoopoes, cranes, eagle owl, little owl, marsh harrier and turtle doves.
