This naturehouse is a beautiful restored granite stone cottage set in the foothills of the Wicklow Mountains. .The cottage is fully equipped as a self catering cottage. We provide a starter pack of fuel for the stove (wood and eco logs) and fuel is available for purchase in the shop in Shillelagh village. The starter pack will keep you going for a couple of nights. The cottage is within a farmyard, and close to the house where we live. Ideal as a base for exploring SE Ireland or staying put and admiring the view. Our hens and ducks provide perfect eggs if they feel like laying and our 2 ‘outside’ cats may come looking for attention. Brayden and Alex, our donkeys, are delighted to see new people who might give them the odd carrot and Juno, our dog, is very friendly and cannot get enough attention.

The Cottage is situated right on the Wicklow Way walking route,18 km from the start/finish point in the beautiful village of Clonegal, Fantastic views over Sth Wicklow and Nth Wexford can be seen from the cottage.. An ancient oak forest, Tomnafinnogue Wood, a beautiful place to walk, any time of year is close by and the beautiful Altamont Gardens and Huntington Castle are always worth a visit. and we are close to the Tinahely loop walks which cater for walkers of varying fitness levels. No visit to our naturehouse is complete without a visit to the Dying Cow pub where you can relax and look at the views, hear some traditional music being played by local musicians and while away the hours.
