This small, beautifully decorated nature house has been lovingly converted from the old baking house into a fully independent cottage. It has a fully equipped kitchen (with small dishwasher), bathroom with shower, living room with sofa bed (sleeps 2), bedroom and terrace, which can be accessed from both rooms. With a good glass of red wine you can enjoy the fantastic view and relax. In the kitchen (former bakery) there is also the rustic, fully functional bread oven, which allows us to prepare delicious casseroles again and again.

The small nature house in Abegoa, is a small island of bliss. It is located on the northeastern slope of Marvão, in the middle of the Serra de São Mamede Nature Reserve in the Alto Alentejo and less than 8 km from the Spanish border. Amidst exciting natural light spectacles with endless views, breathtaking views are offered deep into the interior of Portugal and Spain, surrounded by barely tamed nature. Surrounded by hiking trails and smugglers' routes, there are excellent hiking opportunities amidst exciting and rustic nature. Simply fantastic!
Nature, peace & environment:We had the most wonderful stay in this peaceful retreat near Marvão. It was everything we had hoped for and so much more. Surrounded by nature, the atmosphere was calm and restorative—exactly what we were looking for to rest and recharge. The views were absolutely breathtaking, offering a sense of tranquility that’s hard to put into words.
Our host, Humberto, was exceptional—warm, attentive, and thoughtful, making us feel completely at home. His hospitality truly made our experience even more special.
If you’re looking for a place to unwind, reconnect with nature, and enjoy stunning surroundings, this is the perfect spot. We can’t recommend it enough and would love to return! -

It is a beautiful cottage and everything needed is just there. The view is magnificent.

Nature, peace & environment:It more than met our expectations! A lovely and quiet environment. Our little dog could run loose outside. Humberto (the owner) is very committed and did everything to make us feel comfortable. Very helpful and has many tips.
