We warmly welcome you to our historic farmhouse in the hills near the picturesque village of Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne, one of the most beautiful villages in the Dordogne Valley. At Les Cavaleries, you’ll experience the unique combination of the homey atmosphere of a Chambres d’Hôtes with the privacy of a gîte. The entrance is via your sunny terrace with a stunning view. Many authentic features have been preserved in the charming living room on the first floor. On the second floor, you’ll find the bathroom and the bright bedroom (with air conditioning), both offering beautiful views. From the large shared garden at the back, you can look out over the hills and the villages and castles on the other side of the Dordogne. There are several seating areas and a sunny garden shed built from old window frames and doors. Nature and surroundings
This nature house is located in the south of the Corrèze, in the Dordogne Valley—which we believe is the most beautiful region in France. Les Cavaleries is tucked away in the green hills just a stone’s throw from the picturesque town of Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne and is centrally located among nine villages listed among the most beautiful in France, such as Rocamadour, Collonges-la-Rouge, Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne, Carennac, Curemonte, Turenne, Autoire, Loubressac, and Martel. The surroundings are stunning: the valley, the views, the forests, waterfalls, cliffs, plateaus, caves, castles, and historic villages. Little has changed over the centuries. There are more than 50 hiking trails marked out in the immediate vicinity, and they’re all beautiful. But one must-see—which we recommend to everyone—is the cirque near Autoire! The hike from Les Cavaleries to Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne or Nonards also gives you a good sense of the stunning surroundings. We’d be happy to tell you about our favorite hiking trails.
