The house, recently renovated, is functional and comfortable, furnished with restored pieces from the family collection. The owner’s family lives in a separate building on the property; the property is also home to cats, dogs, and chickens. The A1 highway and the Milan–Rome–Naples railway line run through the valley below Orvieto, about 1.2 km from the house. The house is an ideal base for exploring Umbria and southern Tuscany, while Rome is easily accessible within an hour by car or public transportation. Parking is available within the fenced property. Orvieto, 0.8 km - One of Umbria’s most historic cities and landmarks, characterized by its position, seemingly “suspended” from a large volcanic rock, and by the presence of the Duomo, one of the most beautiful and significant Romanesque-Gothic cathedrals in Italy. Orvieto’s historic center is also worth visiting, featuring the Torre del Moro, the Palazzo del Popolo, St. Patrick’s Well, and the Orvieto Underground. Bolsena, 31 km - Beneath the imposing Castello del Drago, the area stretches along the shores of Lake Bolsena, a volcanic lake that is the largest in Europe. The lake’s beaches are dark in color—a result of the lake’s volcanic origin—beautiful and perfect for relaxing and fishing, as well as being surrounded by fields, olive groves, and vineyards. The lake also features forests of oak, chestnut, and willow trees, along with vast reed beds teeming with birds typical of lake ecosystems. There are notable archaeological sites in the area.
