Heating is provided by a hydro pellet stove while hot water is produced by the solar panel.

Nature and surroundings

The Martassina hamlet is located 2 km from the village of Ala di Stura, where in addition to several restaurants and shops, there is the possibility of renting e-bikes, a spa (by reservation), a fishing reserve, a path between the sundials and, in winter, ice skating and a small and quiet winter sports area. Upstream, in the nearby Balme, a fishing reserve, typical restaurants, pizzerias, vertical labyrinth, mountain museum. On the bottom of the valley Pian della Mussa, at an altitude of 1800 meters, reachable by car in summer, while in winter it can only be reached on foot, becoming the ideal place for snowshoeing, cross-country skiing and ski mountaineering. Starting from Ala di Stura, Martassina and Balme it is possible to take easy walks along the stream, to the alpine lakes lasting 2/3 hours depending on the destination, and slightly more demanding excursions to the refuges.
