Nature house in Deil

This romantic nature house is located on an estate. It’s not right next to the manor house, but a few hundred meters further away, right next to the house with the herb garden. The coach house, which has been largely rebuilt in wood and features its own terrace in the orchard, offers a magnificent view of the countryside. On the horizon, directly across the Linge River, there is a beautiful view of the forests of the Mariënwaerdt estate. Downstairs, there’s a fully equipped, botanical-style kitchen (including a coffee machine, blender, etc.) with a large dining table and a covered patio among the fruit trees, complete with lounge chairs. Upstairs, there are two bedrooms, with a living room and a bathroom in between. Did you know that we run the Koetshuis as sustainably as possible? This is reflected in our use of green electricity, waste separation, eco-friendly cleaning products, soap, and laundry detergent, olive oil vinegar, limited use of the dryer, recycled and sustainable materials, toilet paper, minimal or no plastic, and organic skincare products.

This estate is located on the left bank of the Linge. The ancient Linge River flows from Doornenburg to Gorinchem and, at 100 kilometers, is the longest river entirely within the Netherlands. A significant portion of the estate consists of fertile farmland and wet floodplains along the Linge. The remainder consists of forest, osier beds, nature areas, and landscape features. The farmlands are separated by hawthorn hedges, wooded banks, and rows of trees and pollarded willows. The Appeldijk, lined with fruit trees and running through the estate, follows the course of the Linge. The meadows are largely managed naturally—by avoiding pesticides and fertilizers, mowing only after the breeding season, and maintaining a low livestock density. The estate is also home to the host’s (Catharine) business. It is an organic skincare brand with its own herb garden. You’re more than welcome to stop by for a look around or book a workshop!
