The romantic nature house is located on an estate. It is not next to the manor house, but a few hundred meters away, right next to the house with herb garden. The largely wood rebuilt coach house with its own terrace in the orchard gives a great view over the farmlands. On the horizon, directly across the river Linge, there is a beautiful view of the estate forests of the Mariënwaerdt estate. Downstairs there is a fully equipped botanical-looking kitchen (including coffee machine, blender etc.) with large dining table and covered terrace between the fruit trees with deck chairs. Upstairs there are two bedrooms, with a sitting room and a bathroom in between. Did you know that we run the Koetshuis as sustainably as possible? This is reflected in the use of green electricity, separated waste, green cleaning products, soap and detergent, oil vinegar, limited use of dryer, recycled and sustainable materials, toilet paper, as little or no plastic as possible.
Nature and surroundings
This estate lies on the left bank of the Linge River. The ancient river Linge flows from Doornenburg to Gorinchem and with 100 kilometers it is the longest river in the Netherlands. The estate consists largely of fertile arable land and wet floodplains along the Linge. The remaining part consists of forest, grienden, nature and landscape elements. The estates are separated by hawthorn hedges, wooded banks and rows of trees and pollarded willows. The with fruit trees planted Appeldijk through the estate, follows the course of the Linge. The pastures are managed largely naturally, by not spraying, fertilizing, mowing only after the breeding season and by a low livestock density. The Estate is also home to the host's company (Catharine). It is an organic skin care brand with its own herb garden. Be welcome to cozy up and take a look or book a workshop! :)
