The River Mountain House / La Maison entre deux rivères is a comfortable modern villa in the eastern Pyrenees Catalan mountains, just over an hour from the Mediterranean Sea. The villa is situated at an altitude of 1.000 meter in a French National Park on a private property surrounded by two rivers and a natural swimming pool with waterfalls right in our in the garden. The altitude and location ensures pleasant temperatures during the hot summer months. The house has four modern and comfortable large bedrooms, each with it's own look and feel, sleeping eight persons in total. (and when required we have two baby beds)
Nature and surroundings
The situation in the "Parc Natural Regional del Pirineu Català" ensures a nice and relaxing setting in a beautiful natural surrounding. The villa is during the summer season rented out as one house but can also be used as two separate holiday homes, both with their own entrances, own gardens, own patio's and own barbecue's. The house is connected to the village water system but also has it's own natural water source ensuring great tasting refreshing cold drinking-water! When you walk off of the property you find yourself surrounded with nature with numerous hiking trails and possibilities to enjoy your holidays. At walking distance you find three small lakes up in the mountains great for an afternoon or day hike. Grocery shopping can be done at the town of Prades, 13 kilometres down the road where you can find a number of (ecological) supermarkets and a typical french 'centre ville' or town center with every Tuesday morning a lovely open market.

Perfectly positioned in between 2 mountain rivers, and right at the entrance of the Nohèdes nature reserve, the house is surrounded with hiking or biking trails,... and comes with your own private butterfly garden. We spent a week at the house earlier this month, and we simply loved this perfect hide away.
