This comfortable, simple log cabin is situated on a quiet plot of land measuring about 4,000 m², along with three caravans. It’s not cramped like a campground—there’s plenty of space all around you. The meadow has fruit trees and is bordered by willows and hazel trees. The log cabin consists of two rooms, each with two single beds. Or, pushed together, they form a double bed. There is a dining table with chairs and outdoor furniture. On the countertop is a camping stove for cooking. Kitchen supplies and a refrigerator are provided. Heating is provided by a pellet stove. The water spigot is located outside. A 50-meter walk takes you to very clean restroom facilities. In the garden, you’ll find a natural swimming pond, a trampoline, and a fire pit. Upon request, you can pitch a tent there or rent a vintage caravan to stay in. You can bring your own bedding or rent it. Summer 2026: Following renovations, we’re still working on the finishing touches (check the photos), such as the kitchen (no drain or water connection) and the door handle. That’s why we’re offering a lower rate this summer.
Nature and surroundings
You can go on beautiful walks along the Waal and the Maas in the area around this nature house. There are trails, but you can also just wander around here. In some seasons (usually winter), the water level may be higher, and you can enjoy the view of the water from the dike. Along the Waal, you’ll find lovely, quiet beaches where you can relax and splash around in the water (but don’t swim because of the current). This region is also ideal for biking and skating. Along the Maas, there are also beautiful areas perfect for walking. In some areas, you’ll walk past livestock, beautiful castles or country estates, or simply enjoy nature. Within half an hour by car, you can reach Den Bosch, Nijmegen, and Tiel. The village of Dreumel has a supermarket, a bakery, a restaurant, and a takeout pizzeria serving wood-fired pizzas. What a lovely and cozy cottage. It was sweltering outside, but the cottage stayed nice and cool thanks to the surrounding trees and the good insulation. There are nice spots to sit outside, with plenty of chairs and cushions.
The beds are very comfortable. There’s a nice pellet stove, but we really didn’t need it. The grounds are beautiful, and the owners are exceptionally friendly. We rented bikes right there and went on a lovely ride. The surroundings are really beautiful—farmland and country roads lined with lots of old trees along the Waal River. We also went for a walk along the banks of the Waal. You can cook inside the cottage, but also outside—and that’s exactly what we did.
The restroom (nice and clean) and the shower (nice and clean) are a short walk away, as they aren’t located inside the cottage. We thoroughly enjoyed this beautiful spot behind the Waal dike. We hebben ook gewandeld over de oevers van de Waal. Je kan binnen in het huisje koken, maar ook buiten en dat hebben we dan ook gedaan.
