Just a five-minute walk from the Scheldt River, on the outskirts of the village, you will find this cozy private home. Ideal for those looking for peace and quiet and space. The nature house is hidden among the greenery of two historic estates. This semi-detached house was in the village. The facade stone with The Good Samaritan above the door still refers to this. As does the characteristic fireplace that was donated by the Association of General Practitioners when it was built; the living room was the waiting room at the time. The house with high colored ceilings has windows on all sides, strengthening the contact with the outside. The garden (eastern exposure; no evening sun) is located at the front of the house and is bordered by an evergreen hedge that guarantees privacy at all times. Smoking inside is not allowed. In the winter months the fireplace can be stoked, after consultation with the landlord; please bring your own wood.
Nature and surroundings
The nature house is a five-minute walk to the Westerschelde where the small harbor and fort of Ellewoutsdijk are located. Behind the dike is a protected bird area. The nature reserve De Zwaakse Weel is eight kilometers away. By car you get to Goes, Middelburg and Vlissingen within 20 to 30 minutes. Several beaches and Lake Veere are also reachable within half an hour. By bike you reach in 20 minutes the beaches of Baarland or Kaloot where you can kitesurf. With the toll-free Westerschelde tunnel, Antwerp, Ghent and Bruges can be reached in less than an hour. Even Lille is easy to drive to. In the house you will find extensive documentation, leaflets, maps and guides about the area.
