"We are not in the middle of nowhere, but you can see it form here"! Nordurnes is one of two cottages on a farm: they each stand peacefully by themselves and afford great views onto volcano Hekla, the mountains and the surrounding horse and sheep pastures. Nordurnes is well equipped, cosy and in a scenic location on our 130 Hectare. On their land they also have horses, an outbuilding and our home, all generously spaced out for privacy and views. Feel free to walk on their property, enjoy the peace and stunning views. Ideal location for day trips to all the sights in the South of Iceland! Detailed information and descriptions are in the cottages for you. They gladly assist you with any queries you have!
Nature and surroundings
Some of the day trips: Golden Circle, Geysir, Gullfoss and Thingvellir; Skogar waterfall & museum, Vik (black beach), drive past volcano Hekla, into the foothills of the highlands, in summer go to Landmannalaugar, Westman Islands, etcetera. Bad weather: lave museum & lava tunnel, hot pots and swimming pools, Reykjavik 90 kilometres away. The glacier lagoon is a long day trip but many of our guest undertake it, the drive is very scenic!
