Nature house in St.-Merd la Breuille

Somewhere, about 70 kilometers west of Clermont-Ferrand, in the Parc Naturel Regional de Millevaches and Limousin, the small stream La Méouzette ripples past the 400-year-old Bourzeix water mill. It was once very busy when the villagers of St-Merd-la-Breuille brought their wares to be milled along five old roads. Today, only one road stops for those who want to come to the nature house to enjoy the peace and quiet of nature or to relax in a place where the little ones can romp without a care in the world or drag wood from the forest for the campfire. For those who want a taste of pottery or other ceramics, Fanny gives initiation lessons with great knowledge. Due to the very low population density and the extensive use of the land, nature still has every opportunity here. The landlords, both biologists, were very pleasantly surprised at their first encounter by the great biodiversity. So they decided to manage this place as their own little nature reserve. By giving wild herbs a chance, many handsome insects are lured, which in turn are a tasty snack for small and large predators from the forest edge or the sky. As an example, the otter can count as the representative of a very handsome ecosystem located on the flanks of the Millevaches overlooking the volcanoes of the Puy de Dome.
