One of the two cottages we have is a former forge with authentic French details. We have converted this into a cottage for 4 persons. On the ground floor is the living/dining room with a wood stove and TV (including Dutch and Belgian channels). The kitchen unit has a dishwasher, refrigerator, coffee maker (+ a Senseo), kettle, oven and a four-burner gas hob. On the second floor are the bedrooms and the shower and toilet area. Adjacent to the cottage there is the garden, a terrace (covered with shade cloth) and an unheated swimming pool in the months of July and August. There is private parking for one car. Because of the many steps, the cottage is not suitable for disabled people, and there is nothing to do for children. Our second cottage (cottage number 87861) is suitable for 2 people, which makes it possible to stay overnight with 6 people (subject to availability).
Nature and surroundings
From the nature house you walk directly into the forest, you can walk endlessly and enjoy the views and tranquility. There are also plenty of opportunities for cycling or mountain biking in the area. The lake Etang Neuf is about five kilometers away, The mountain peaks of Mont Dore and Puy de Dome can be reached by car or motorcycle in about an hour, as well as Clermont-Ferrand (with its black cathedral) and Montluçon. In romantic Evaux Les Bains are the Fin de siècle thermal baths. Aubusson, famous for its tapestries, is also not far from here. In Auzances (12 kilometers) there is a supermarket, gas station and several other stores and restaurants.
