The cottage is located in the hamlet of Gengiraud, situated in a valley at the end of a cul-de-sac. In the courtyard are a well and the old chestnut tree, around which are built the large barn and two houses (which are rented separately). This nature cottage served as a cloth spinning mill more than 300 years ago. The living kitchen with wood stove overlooks the garden adjacent to the river. In the cottage there is a bedroom and bathroom. Next to the cottage on the terrace are two more bedrooms, behind which is a second terrace. Under the cottage, located on a third terrace, there is another bathroom. Next door is the recently built painting studio where easels, paint, pigment and paper from various artists in the family have found a place, you can use these to your heart's content.
Nature and surroundings
In the lovely landscape of the North Dordogne, the Perigord Vert, a rolling landscape with alternating forests, meadows, apple and walnut orchards and fields of grain, corn, rape and sunflowers, in the valley at the end of a long, dead-end road lies the hamlet with two houses. Neighbors are far away, the nearest inhabited house is one kilometer away, at the beginning of the cul-de-sac. Silence is what prevails, only the babbling of the little river and the singing birds is what you hear during the day. At night the call of an owl or the grunt of a wild boar. But when the Limousin cows are in the meadow, they sometimes break the silence with some mooing.

Das Haus war feucht, in einer Wand des Wohnzimmers und an den Wänden von zwei Schlafzimmern hatte sich Schimmel gebildet. Der gesamte Kellerbereich (Waschmaschine, zweite Dusche, zweites WC) des Hauses war feucht und an den Wänden voller Schimmel. Wir haben uns nach 4 Tagen wegen gesundheitlicher Beschwerden (Husten, geschwollene Augen) entschlossen, abzureisen.
Die Natur und der naheglegene Fluss waren sehr schön.
