The nature house is located in the hamlet of Gengiraud, situated in a valley at the end of a cul-de-sac. In the courtyard there is a well and an old chestnut tree, around which are built the large barn and two houses (which are rented separately). The nature house is about 200 years old and overlooks the meadow. This house has a large living kitchen with a fireplace, a wood stove, a bookcase full of literature, a few drawers full of arthouse movies on DVD, a closet shelf with board games, a bathroom, a toilet and three bedrooms that sleep seven. The kitchen adjoins a large terrace overlooking the meadow. Around the entire complex is a large garden with fruit trees and several terraces. A trampoline for the children and hammocks for their parents.
Nature and surroundings
In the lovely landscape of the North Dordogne, the Perigord Vert, a rolling landscape with alternating forests, meadows, apple and walnut orchards and fields of grain, corn, rape and sunflowers, in the valley at the end of a long, dead-end road lies the hamlet with two houses. Neighbors are far away, the nearest inhabited house is one kilometer away, at the beginning of the cul-de-sac. Silence is what prevails, only the babbling of the little river and the singing birds is what you hear during the day. At night the call of an owl or the grunt of a wild boar. But when the Limousin cows are in the meadow, they sometimes break the silence with some mooing.

Een heerlijke vakantie midden in de natuur. Even weg van alles.
Wat een mooie plek. Supermooie locatie met prachtige tuin vol verborgen plekjes met zitbankjes, ligstoelen, hangmatten. Aan de rand van de tuin het riviertje. Een erg rustige plek. Een tuin vol vlinders en andere insectjes (maar tot mijn verbazing bijna geen lastige: muggen en vliegen).
's Avonds heerlijk bij de vuurschaal gezeten en naar de (vallende) sterren gekeken.
Het huisje zelf was zeker ook ok. Geen tv-ontvangst maar dat stoorde niet. Er was een heel ruim aanbod aan (goede) films. We zijn niets te kort gekomen en hadden een prachtige vakantie! -

Ons verblijf was heerlijk. We hebben een fijne, rustige week gehad waarin we de omgeving hebben verkend, hebben gefietst en gebruik hebben gemaakt van de goed uitgeruste keuken in het huis. De kinderen hebben genoten van de rivier, de schommels en de trampoline. En natuurlijk de koeien.
De omgeving was rustig en prachtig en we hebben een heerlijke week gehad. Het huis is ruim, heel sfeervol ingericht en schoon. De bedden zijn goed en het blijft lekker koel in het huis in de zomer. De keuken is geweldig!
