Nature house in La Rochefoucauld en Angoumois

The gites are located on the edge of the national forest Forêt de la Braconne. Between the capital Angoulême and La Rochefoucauld, in the department of Charente. The landlords have three romantic, authentic, French gites on their property equipped with modern conveniences. The gites are part of an 18th-century "maison Charentaise" and border its courtyard. The whole property is walled and in the gardens surrounding the house and the nature houses are many fruit trees, from which jam is made, and you can enjoy "confiture a la maison". This gite has a living area of 50 m² and is suitable for two people. The gites consist of a living room, kitchen, bathroom with toilet, bedroom (loft) and terrace. The gites are non-smoking. Present: refrigerator, microwave, kettle, coffee machine, gas stove and wood stove. Enjoy the French life!

The Charente is known for its Pineau des Charentes, magret and truffles. The beautiful landscape with forests, fields and vineyards with many picturesque villages in this department mostly date back to Roman times, such as Aubeterre sur Drome (is a member of organization representing the 100 most beautiful villages in France), Brantome (known as the Venice of the Perigord) and the many castles in the Charente. Visit the cozy French markets with local products and antiques. Nearby are the caves of Queroy, Famous wine regions such as the Médoc, Pomerol, St. Emilion, Cognac and Bergerac are in the vicinity. The famous and summer busy coastal city of La Rochelle is over an hour away. Forêt de la Braconne is a forest of 4000 hectares and has many hiking trails (hiking map available in gites).as well as wandering routes via Komootapp and hiking trails following the legends of the forest!
