Stylishly converted, single-story farmhouse for six at 700 meters altitude in the Parc des Volcans of the Cantal (South Auvergne). Complete privacy: private entrance, private terrace and a secluded garden with wide views over the green valley of the Maronne, the blue mountains and the characteristic village of Saint-Martin-Valméroux.The living floor of 120 m² has a spacious living room, open kitchen, three bedrooms, bathroom and separate toilet. Wifi throughout the house, including on the terrace.Saint-Martin-Valméroux is within walking and cycling distance and has restaurants, supermarket, bakery, butcher, pharmacy, doctor, ATM and a heated swimming pool. The medieval fortified town of Salers is seven kilometers, the Puy Mary (1787 m) at thirteen kilometers, and capital Aurillac at twenty kilometers.A really quiet nature house for those who want to hike, bike and seek the silence of the mountains. At night no light pollution, only stars.
Nature and surroundings
The Cantal is one of France's best-kept secrets. Most Dutch people know the Dordogne, the Ardèche and the Lot, but the Cantal, which lies right in between, is still a discovery for many. The area is part of the volcanic Massif Central and belongs to the Parc Naturel Régional des Volcans d'Auvergne, one of the largest natural parks in France. Green-blue mountains, rivers, lakes and waterfalls alternate. The mountain landscape, formed by volcanic eruptions and glaciers, offers hundreds of marked hiking trails, from one-hour to multi-day treks with overnight stays in mountain huts. For those who want to take it slower, the chairlift at Le Lioran and the cabin elevator to the Plomb du Cantal take you high up into the mountains almost without effort. Industry and mass tourism are absent. What remains is nature, space and silence: wide views, cows with bells in the meadow, and starry skies like you don't see in the Netherlands anymore.

Mooi huisje, van alle gemakken voorzien. Mooi gerenoveerd. Schoon. Tuinonderhoud kan wel wat aandacht gebruiken. Wellicht kan dit met corona te maken hebben omdat eigenaren langere periode niet naar Frankrijk konden.
Mooi uitzicht op het dal, langs een wandelroute, heerlijk rustig. Dorpje voor o.a bakker op loopafstand (2 km). We hebben heerlijk gefietst en gewandeld.

Schoon, fijne keuken met meer dan voldoende kookgerei en prima douche
Heerlijk rustig plekje met een mooi uitzicht op dal. Vlak bij wel een raceparcour maar deze was niet in gebruik tijdens ons verblijf. Prima bakker in het dorp.
