Experience the outdoors, enjoy the animals, the rural tranquility and the ecological swimming pool. Or taste the fresh vegetables and organic meat from its own permaculture farm in the Auberge (restaurant). The nature house is located just outside the idyllic village of Mauroux, near the Lot River, on a beautiful estate. The area is perfect for hiking or cycling and visiting picturesque villages, towns or bastides. A morning to the market, a cave or castle visit, you will find it all nearby. The wine lover also has plenty of choice. Within a radius of 10 kilometers you will find many properties, where you can taste wine on location. Do you love art? The lovely town of Les Arques has a small museum set up with sculptures by the artist Zadkine, who spent his last years of life here.
Nature and surroundings
To experience nature, however, you don't necessarily have to leave the property. By farming "nature-inclusively," the landlords try to achieve a natural balance on their pastures and in the forests. Because of this balance, there are fewer diseases in the plants, herbs and (fruit) trees and they do not need to use pesticides. As a result, there are more insects, which in turn attract more birds. Some examples of special birds that can be spotted here every year are the hoopoe, golden oriole, apple finch, greylag, little owl, barn owl, tawny owl, red and black kite. The ecological pool is filtered through plants in the pool's adjacent pond. This allows you to swim in water without chemicals. Every now and then you will also encounter a frog, but since frogs can only live in clean water, this is a good indicator that the water is of top quality. Electricity is generated by solar panels, the water is heated by solar collectors and wood, cut from our own forest. Thus, the hosts are almost self-sufficient in food and energy.
