Nature house in Poupehan

A beautiful cottage, well maintained and spotlessly clean. Attractive decor and fully equipped, very nice beds, and after all those walking meters with your tired legs in a warm hot tub to dive followed by an infrared sauna was really a party! We enjoyed!

Een prachtig huisje, goed onderhouden en brandschoon. Sfeervolle inrichting en Van alle gemakken voorzien, Hele fijne bedden, en om na al die wandelmeters met je vermoeide beentjes in een heerlijk warme hottub te duiken gevolgd door een infrarood sauna was wel echt een feestje!
We hebben genoten!

The house is located in a valley, near the river Semois. You walk straight into nature. And so many hiking trails in the area. Absolute tranquility, wonderful! We only hiked, environment is excellent for trained mountain bikers / cyclists who like climbing.

Het huis ligt in een dal, vlakbij de rivier Semois. Je loopt zo de natuur in. En daarnaast zoveel wandelroutes in de omgeving. Absolute rust, heerlijk!
Wij hebben enkel gewandeld, omgeving leent zich uitstekend voor getrainde mountainbikers/fietsers die van klimmen houden.

The cottage in itself is certainly worthy of a higher score and is very clean. However, the rental contract is very coercive with all kinds of foreseen fines. The firewood (mandatory purchase) is much more expensive than the trade price. The cottage is already quite expensive so taking a profit on that seems excessive. Given the location of the cottage in nature and the cold, apparently a small animal had found shelter in the false ceiling of the chalet. This was audible and disturbing at night. When we notified the owner it was dismissed as non-existent. The owner (quite rightly) wants the tenants to respect the cottage. Reaction landlord: Nice to hear that the location and cleanliness of the cottage were so appreciated. The firewood is not mandatory. Unfortunately, due to its location in the middle of the forest, natural animal noises at night cannot be completely excluded, but there are no pests in the living areas of the cottage. Moreover, compensation was offered, although I understand that it was not perceived to be satisfactory.

Het huisje op zich is zeker een hogere score waard en is zeer proper. Het huurcontract is echter zeer dwingend met allerlei voorziene boetes. Het brandhout (verplicht af te nemen) is veel duurder dan de handelsprijs. Het huisje is al vrij duur dus daarop winst nemen lijkt overdreven. Gezien de ligging van het huisje in de natuur en de koude had blijkbaar een diertje onderdak gevonden in het vals plafond van de chalet. Dat was 's nachts hoorbaar en storend. Als wij de eigenaar daarvan in kennis stelden werd het afgedaan als onbestaande. De eigenaar wil (volledig terecht) dat de huurders respect hebben voor het huisje. Dat zou dan ook een beetje wederzijds mogen.

Reactie verhuurder:

Fijn om te horen dat de ligging en netheid van het huisje zo gewaardeerd werden. Het brandhout is niet verplicht af te nemen. Door de ligging midden in het bos kunnen natuurlijke dierengeluiden ’s nachts helaas niet volledig worden uitgesloten, maar er is geen ongedierte aanwezig in de woonruimtes van het huisje. Er werd bovendien een compensatie aangeboden, al begrijp ik dat deze niet naar wens werd ervaren.

The beautiful cottage is well and quietly located in nature , equipped with everything needed. . Definitely a "nature house".

Het mooie huisje is goed en rustig in de natuur gelegen , voorzien van alles wat nodig is. . Zeker een 'natuurhuisje'.
