In a lovely spot with lots of privacy lies our forest cottage, near Winterswijk in Gelderland. It is cozy furnished with everything for a nice stay: sitting area with comfortable furniture, in addition dining area and kitchen with induction hob, microwave, refrigerator and small freezer. Crockery and cooking utensils are amply provided. Both bedrooms have double beds of good quality and generous closet space. The bathroom was renovated in 2022 and has a walk-in shower; the toilet is separate. There is a modern TV, DAB+ radio and Wi-Fi. In the fenced outdoor area, since early 2024, there is a lovely canopy with patio furniture and there is a carport. Because of its location on the edge of the park you can walk straight into the woods. After a booking we send additional information. We ask tenants to leave the cottage clean and tidy but that can also be provided, as well as providing bath and bed linen. Please let us know immediately after booking.
Nature and surroundings
Its location on the edge of the landscape park makes it a unique spot for peace seekers. At the back you walk straight into nature with forests, streams and plenty of walking opportunities. The Achterhoek is a true hiking paradise with a network of no less than 3,000 km. And for cycling, the possibilities are also inexhaustible; in our shed are two bikes that can be used freely. This area with the special coulisse landscape has not for nothing received the status "National Landscape Winterswijk". Also nearby is recreational lake 't Hilgelo (freely accessible). Due to its central location in relation to both surrounding towns and Germany, Winterswijk has surprisingly many facilities for a village: nice stores, cozy cafes and restaurants, museums, a cinema and a theater. Twice a week there is a market in the lively center. In the cottage there is a large folder full of tourist information including walking and cycling routes.
