Nature house in Clermont D'Excideuil

This nature house is a beautiful, detached, tasteful gite in the North Dordogne. The house has recently been completely and authentically restored. The terrace adjacent to the kitchen gives a spacious view over fields, forests and valleys. In the large garden is the swimming pool (16x5 meters) with a lovely sun terrace. On the courtyard where the gite is, there is also the house of the landlords. Privacy is guaranteed. Three kilometers away is the village Excideuil with a supermarket, restaurants and terraces. In the immediate vicinity you can play golf, cycling, horseback riding, hiking, canoeing, tennis, fishing, etcetera. The nature house is also an ideal base for day trips to Sarlat, castles on the Dordogne, Bergerac, Pompadour and the world famous caves of Lascaux and Tourtoirac. The lake of Rouffiac is a 15-minute drive away and has a supervised beach, ideal for small children, and possibility of water skiing.

This part of the Dordogne is one of the most beautiful parts of France. A short distance from Excideuil you will find the picturesque towns of Brantôme (the Venice of the Dordogne) and Bourdeilles. In a half hour drive you are in the capital of the Dordogne: Périgueux, a beautiful city with lots of history. The famous Bergerac is definitely worth a visit, in just over an hour you are there. A little past Brantôme are the caves of Villars. Impressive rock formations, stalactites and stalagmites are interspersed with prehistoric rock drawings. No vacation in the Dordogne without a visit to a beautiful castle. Mareuil-sur-Belle has its own chateau that can be visited. One of the most beautiful castles in the Dordogne and known from the movie Cinderella with Drew Barrymore is Chateau de Hautefort (16 kilometers, about a 20-minute drive). Another must-see is Chateau de Jumilhac-le-Grand (28 kilometers, about 40 minutes). Its rooftop setting is very special and makes Jumilhac the black pearl of the Périgord. Moreover, the gold museum is housed in the castle.
