The nature house is located against the forest edge overlooking beautiful hills. The only neighbors live almost a kilometer away and their home is a rustic white castle. The renovated old forester's cottage belongs to the commune of Sémelay, a small village within walking distance, 2.5 kilometers, with a lovely restaurant where you can also buy takeaway. Fresh French bread is delivered to the post office in the village! . The nature house consists of a large living room with wood stove and open kitchen, two bedrooms, a bathroom and a separate toilet. The house has central heating, Wifi and Dutch TV. The enclosed garden makes the house suitable for your faithful four-legged friends, who are very welcome. Garden furniture, a barbecue and a trampoline are available. For your children there are also games, a swing and a Sinkel's store. A 20-minute drive away is a larger town with supermarkets.

Nature and surroundings

A typical Morvan ganger will tell you that he comes home when he sees the first hedges. A Morvan lover loves hiking, (brisk!) biking, animals, plants, churches, castles and silence. He certainly doesn't come there to brush up on his French because you can't understand the dialect. What makes the Morvan so beautiful that you get homesick as soon as you are in Holland are the mornings that shroud the hills in mist until slowly the sun rises and the cows appear steaming as if from nowhere. The fresh breads at the little bakeries, the hundreds of birds that seem to play with each other all day, the locals with the eternal baguette under their arms, the cries of rutting deer in the fall, the wild boars that even the locals watch breathlessly, the buzzards and owls that are not used to people and fly by at a few meters' distance, the deer that are hunted but pampered outside the hunting season, the culture that goes back to the time of the Celts and the pine forests where a cracking twig provides an exciting fantasy.

Perfect location for rest and relaxation and total privacy. The house is old (as seen in the description) with squeaky floor boards here and there but it's equipped with everything you need. The thick walls help keep it cool inside all day so we didn't even need a fan! Nice modern bathroom, Netflix etc. We didn't hang lots of walks with our dogs. There are not many locally but if you drive about 20 minutes enjoying the countryside views, there are plenty on Wikiloc for example. We drove 50 mins to Chaumard one day and did a beautiful route around there. Villapourçon and Lotussy are also great areas for walks. Enjoy!

If it were possible we would give it more than 5/5. The first Nature House anywhere that has a properly fenced garden where your dogs can happily run free. Wonderful views and cows that come up to drink twice a day. We were outside until late most nights looking at the stars and listening to the animal sounds!

The house is well equipped. A bit chilly in the spring, be sure to bring slippers :). The house is old and you notice that, creaky floors in the hallway and doors. But this also has its charm. For really nice walks in the woods you have to take the car. Especially the Parc Regional du Morvan is super beautiful and really recommended for beautiful walks. We have been in the spring and have heard and seen many birds! The city of Autun impressed us a lot.

    Nature, peace & environment: 5 /5

A lovely old house with super nice views, lots of greenery and tranquility.
