Nature house in Saint Franchy

Bienvenue in this nature house in St. Franchy, a small but authentic French village in the greenest part of Burgundy, the Nievre. It is hilly, with many forests and lakes for swimming. Features are the vast meadows and a benevolent silence. It is the land of herds of white Charolais cows. Bulls, cows and calves together in the shade under large oaks, resting from a day of grazing. The big rolls of mowed hay all over the landscape. The nights here are still truly dark, with insane starry skies. The Milky Way is easy to see. There is no light pollution in Saint Franchy, only the sound of owls and hedgehogs rustling in the bushes. The gite is an authentic, detached, French house with typical features of the region, such as the thick "en pierre" walls in the living room and bedrooms. These ensure a pleasantly cool indoor climate in the summers. There is also air conditioning in the house which can both cool and heat. The large garden with mature trees is approximately 1200 m². Outdoor enjoyment is paramount in this region! At the front of the nature house a small garden with insanely beautiful views over the hills. At the back and side a large, mature garden with grassland, tall fruit trees and lots of privacy. Cycling: 12 mountain bike trails depart from nearby St. Saulge. For the untrained cyclist, the route along the Nivernais Canal is recommended, past picturesque lock keeper houses. The many locks are still operated by hand by the occupants of these houses. For hikers, there are infinitely beautiful marked trails through the rolling countryside, both for climbers and those who prefer the more level routes. Even a piece of the route to Santiago de Compastella is possible, 10 kilometers north of St. Franchy. The swimming lake Etang du Merle is four kilometers away. On the Loire there are several places to rent a canoe, but also in the town of Limanton there are beautiful trips on the small river Aron. The Morvan nature reserve is 30 kilometers away.
