Nature house in Beek-Ubbergen

Nestled amid the natural beauty of the Elyseesche Velden, against the stunning moraine between Beek and Ubbergen near the Ooijpolder in Gelderland, stands our 100-year-old house, with this sustainably built, well-insulated nature house nestled in the leafy garden. It is comfortably equipped for sleeping, living, and relaxing for two people, possibly with a baby. The living room is bright, featuring characteristic wooden roof beams, a sofa set, a hanging chair, a fold-out tabletop, and French doors leading to a sunny private terrace and garden. There’s also an open kitchen with a cooking island, fully equipped including a dishwasher and a coffee bean grinder. A bedroom with a double bed (140x200) and a baby crib if you’re bringing a baby. The bathroom features a spacious walk-in shower, Rituals products, a hair dryer, and a washing machine. You’ll have your own private entrance. A wonderful base for exploring the city of Nijmegen or visiting the Maartenskliniek. Welcome to our nature house!

The nature house is located in the heart of the Rijk van Nijmegen—the very best the Netherlands has to offer in terms of cultural and natural beauty. On one hand, there’s the river landscape of the Maas and Waal in the Ooijpolder and Duffelt nature reserves. On the other side, the fascinating moraine landscape—the Heerlijkheid Beek Nature Reserve is perfect for hiking and biking. If you enjoy hiking, you can easily join the N70 Nature Hiking Trail right here—one of the most beautiful hiking trails in the Netherlands. At the Duivelsberg, which is quite a climb, you’ll find a pancake restaurant where you can stop for a break. Or start from the cottage and walk part of the “Walk of Wisdom” pilgrimage route in the Ooijpolder. A 5-minute walk from the cottage, in the Ravenberg woods, you’ll find the Kabouterboom, the oldest sweet chestnut tree in the Netherlands. Beek owes its name to the many springs that bubble up and from which crystal-clear water flows. Peace and quiet, fresh air, and clear spring water: these are the ingredients for good health and an energy boost.
