Nature house in Mariënvelde

The farmhouse was tastefully renovated in 2016 while retaining its original charm and is ideal for a family weekend. The house is very spacious and artfully decorated. There is a large, cozy living area with a sitting area, a fireplace, a large dining table, a TV corner, and an open kitchen. The house is a blend of modern and traditional, atmospheric and artistic. The four bedrooms downstairs open onto a large hallway with large doors leading outside. Upstairs, in addition to the five bedrooms, there is also a sitting area and a sauna. All bedrooms are sufficiently distant from the large living room to ensure a good night’s sleep for early sleepers. Outside, the house offers a large, peaceful garden with plenty of space. There is also a tennis court. There are 4 showers and 4 restrooms available. If you book from Friday to Sunday, the check-out time on Sunday is no later than 7:30 PM instead of 10:30 AM. Note: Unfortunately, groups of young people, student organizations, and sports clubs are not permitted to stay at our location. Inviting additional guests is not permitted.

The Achterhoek is known for its “coulisse” landscape: wooded areas interspersed with meadows and fields, villages, and farms. This house is situated right in the heart of this landscape. The beautiful, old Saxon farmhouse, built in 1804, is truly a unique place. Cycling or hiking in the Achterhoek means being surprised by a stunning view or a characteristic wooded embankment around every bend. You’ll travel from forests to meadows and from picturesque villages to historic towns. The Achterhoek is home to world-class art. Museum MORE houses the art collection of Hans Melchers, a collection of national importance to the Netherlands. Museum MORE is located in Gorssel and Ruurlo. You can also enjoy lovely walks in the many forests of Ruurlo or Zelhem, for example. In recent years, many church trails in the area have been restored, allowing you to take delightful walks through the meadows and the bocage landscape. There are also wine routes, a castle route, forests, and charming towns like Doesburg or Lochem.
