Nature house in Les Ancizes

In Auvergne, the green heart of France some 893 kilometers from Utrecht, lies this charming two-person cottage overlooking one of France's highest railroad bridges. No more trains pass here, but the peace of 'la campagne' reigns. This cottage used to serve as the staff quarters of the adjacent railroad hotel, which is now a large vacation home. This blue cottage is now a compact but complete vacation home with its own terrace and garden with barbecue, shower, toilet, kitchen and living/sleeping area. In the evening the wood stove is lit. Via stairs you step into the cozy high bed, sleeping romantically under the sloping roof. In the morning you wake up to the sound of birds singing.

This is pure France in the region of mountains, lakes, rivers and volcanic mountains (Unesco nature reserve), of which the Puy de Dôme (1465 meters) is the most famous. A beautiful environment for nature lovers, hikers and mountain biking. Close to home there are several beaches, but also hidden places where you can swim or fish in peace. In the region, visit one of the many cheese makers or water mills. Every day of the week there is a market in the area where regional products are sold, such as the many cheeses that come from here, such as Bleu d'Auvergne. Nearby are the cities of Clermont-Ferrand and the spring water city of Vichy, as well as some of the country's most beautiful medieval towns. In less warm periods of the year, the cottage is easy to keep warm with the wood stove and radiators, making it suitable for all seasons. Not suitable for people with reduced mobility.
