Welcome to the northernmost nature house on the Dutch mainland! Built in 1932 but completely renovated inside while maintaining its authentic atmosphere. The living room is bright and has wide views of the Lauwerpolder. The open kitchen and large dining table invite you to long and cozy meals. There is a small library and many (outdoor) toys for children of all ages. The downstairs bedroom has large patio doors to the terrace, where you look out over an expansive lawn with chestnuts and fruit trees. Nature, peace & environment:The cottage is very secluded and surrounded by the vastness of the Hogeland. Wild geese, deer and hares were around every day. At night there was also a fox! The area around the cottage was very dark at night though. I would have liked some more lighting for while walking the dog.We were not bothered by fireworks on New Year's Eve. However, carbide was shot at surrounding farms, including before and after New Year's Eve. But with good outlet timing we were able to circumvent that. The dog is not allowed in part of the garden (nature reserve) and on the dike. This limited the hiking possibilities in the immediate area quite a bit.
