In the middle of the Morvan Natural Park, in the heart of Burgundy, the landlords have a beautiful chalet for rent. One kilometer from their farm, the nature house is right on their private lake, surrounded by the impressive flora and fauna of the Morvan. The grounds are seven acres consisting of forest, meadow and lakes (with a very healthy carp stock, up to 35 pounds). Ideal for fishermen, but also for nature lovers, outdoor sports enthusiasts and those seeking peace and quiet. Really get away from it all... There is a boat you can use. There are two lakes of one acre each. No fishing license is required.
Nature and surroundings
The chalet is located between Lake Lac des Settons and the typical French village of Moux en Morvan. Here you can go for daily shopping. There is a good bakery and a small supermarket. There are fantastic hiking and mountain biking routes nearby. Cycling is also wonderful here with elevation changes up to 900 meters. Lake Lac des Settons (a five-minute drive from the nature house) offers plenty of opportunities. Hiking or biking around the lake is a beautiful 15 kilometer trip with great views of the lake. And of course swimming from one of the sandy beaches. There is also a sailing school, you can canoe and pedal boat and there is a tour boat. Le Saut de Gouloux (10 minutes' drive from the chalet) is highly recommended. An idyllic waterfall, 15 minutes walk from the restaurant of the same name (delicious local produce, everything 'fait maison'). The path to it, along the river and/or through the forest, is so beautiful. A magical and soothing place!
