Nature house in Le Bourg d'Hem

This nature house, located in a rural setting where time stands still, is an oasis of silence and beauty. The recently refurbished century-old house makes you feel at home immediately. The cozy decor, the views from every window and the great silence will make you relax immediately. The spacious kitchen is fully equipped and is for many the favorite place in the house. In the living room you can sit after a relaxing sauna, read a book, stare at the wood stove, or sleep on the double sofa bed. The bedroom has a double bed (with extra top mattress) that we can also set apart for you to make two separate beds. The wood stoves keep the house wonderfully warm. The thick walls provide ideal mass for warmth in winter and coolness in summer. And of course in October to June the wood-fired sauna! This is just steps away. The house itself is located at the end of a cul-de-sac with beautiful views over the countryside.

The nature house is located in the "Vallée des Peintres," an area where painters like Monet came to paint the special light of the landscape. You are surrounded by forests, fields, and rivers, small villages and narrow winding roads. You can hear the Creuse River flowing, that's how quiet it can be - and that's how close the Creuse is. Here you are in no time for a cooling dip, for sunbathing or hiking. At the waterfront restaurant "Au z'Amis du Lac," you can enjoy lunch or dinner in the evening. Due to the pure air and remote location, starry nights are impressive, and sunrise and sunset something to look forward to. The area has beautiful walks and bike trails, on old paths between fields or through the forest. This part of France is not yet so touristy, so the interesting places and sights can be visited quietly. If you are looking forward to a vacation in a complete "change of scenery," then this is the ideal cottage!
