Nature house in Roccagloriosa

A beautiful and charming house with all the amenities, both inside and out. It’s in a wonderfully peaceful location with a huge garden featuring ancient olive trees and lots of flowers surrounding the house. Stunning views in every direction; we enjoyed a beautiful sunset almost every evening. Friendly and responsive owners.
Two things that aren’t listed on the website but are definitely there: an outdoor shower—which we think is almost as good as a pool in the middle of summer. And all the windows and doors are equipped with screens.
A 15-minute drive away, you’ll find two train stations with excellent connections to places like Salerno and Naples.

Een mooi en sfeervol huis met alles erop en eraan, zowel binnen als buiten. Heerlijk rustig gelegen met een enorme tuin met stokoude olijfbomen en veel bloemen rondom het huis. Prachtig uitzicht aan alle kanten; wij hadden vrijwel elke avond een prachtige zonsondergang. Vriendelijke en responsieve eigenaars.
Twee dingen die niet op de website staan, maar er toch wel zijn: een buitendouche; bijna net zo goed als een zwembad zo midden in de zomer vinden wij. En verder zijn alle ramen en deuren voorzien van horren.
Op een kwartiertje rijden vind je twee treinstations met prima verbindingen naar bijvoorbeeld Salerno en Napels.

Plenty of space and very peaceful; practically the only sounds you hear are the rooster and cowbells, and very occasionally a tractor. The region, home to the vast Cilento Nature Park, is exceptionally beautiful. It’s very mountainous and covered in forests. The coastline is breathtakingly beautiful in places. We thought it was at least as beautiful as the Amalfi Coast, but it’s much less touristy. From the house, you can be on the beach in 20 minutes.

Veel ruimte en erg rustig; vrijwel het enige dat je hoort zijn de haan en koeienbellen, en heel soms een tractor. De streek, met het grote natuurpark de Cilento, is bijzonder mooi. Erg bergachtig en heel veel bos. De kust is hier en daar adembenemend mooi. We vonden het er minstens net zo mooi als de Amalfikust, maar het is veel minder toeristisch. Vanaf het huis zit je binnen 20 minuten op het strand.

If you can't find peace here, you won't make it anywhere... ;-) We love accommodation like this if it's a bit out in the countryside. We don't mind if the access routes are a bit more challenging. From Roccagloriosa you can quickly get to the sea or directly into the mountains. Shopping facilities and basic supplies are available in the village, as are bars and restaurants. Everything was there in the house itself and it is lovingly furnished. It was spotlessly clean. There is a possibility to sit outside at any time of the day. The landlord was always available and responded quickly.

Wer hier nicht zur Ruhe kommt, der schafft es nirgendwo... ;-) Wir lieben solche Unterkünfte, wenn sie etwas außerhalb in der Natur liegen. Uns macht es auch nichts aus, wenn die Anfahrtswege etwas anspruchsvoller sind. Von Roccagloriosa aus kann man dann schnell ans Meer kommen oder direkt in die Berge. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und Grundversorgung sind im Ort vorhanden, Bars und Restaurants ebenfalls.

Im Haus selber war alles da und es ist liebevoll eingerichtet. Es war blitzsauber. Für jede Tageszeit gibt es eine Möglichkeit draußen zu sitzen. Der Vermieter war immer erreichbar und hat schnell geantwortet.
