Nature house in Motovun / Buzet

This small nature house, for two, is constructed of local honey-coloured Istrian stone, perched on the side of a hill, blending in among the olive groves and tidy rows of vines above the river valleys, truffle forests and rolling green hills of north central Istria. This nature house is perfect for Honeymoons and Getaway Breaks for Couples. There are magnificent panoramic views from every side of the house, including the Venetian-built hilltop town, 'Motovun'. Once upstairs on our roofed terrace, it can be hard to pull yourself away from the ever-changing light on these views, the sun and cloud formations and sometimes you may see rainbows or an amazing storm progressing up the river valley from the sea. They can see the campaniles of so many ancient churches from the house.: Motovun, Oprtalj, Zamask, Vizinada and Draguc... Villa for 2 is available from Easter to the end of October. In main season, the rental period is 7/14/21 days Sorry, not suitable for children.

Motovun Forest is a protected area, with ancient trees. We have seen otters, a wild boar with a trail of babies following behind her, red squirrels, pine martens, deer and hares. There are the reptiles, lizards, salamanders, the birds - european bee eaters, nightingales singing in the bushes on the slope just below the house in spring, nightjars churring, hoopoes, firecrests, woodpeckers, scops owls calling and hundreds of other birds that we don't recognise, most of which sing a lot! There are many many wild flowers, including several types of orchid just growing by the sides of the road. Swallowtail butterflies often come into the garden, which we understand shows the air is pure here. There are other butterflies and moths attracted by our flowering shrubs and lavender, amazing insects, praying mantids, iridescent flying beetles, which seem to have no sense of direction, and buzzing honeybees around the hives.
