What a beautiful place. Greenery, birds singing, including tawny owls, and a rushing stream. Our cottage was simple, but pleasant. From the comfortable bed we had a view of the hill across the street. Outside you could sit comfortably, on garden chair or lounger. Evenings in the shade, nice when it is very hot. The owners are very nice and helpful. In short, for people who love peace and nature and who are not looking for the luxury of a four-star hotel, it is a unique place. We would love to come back again.

Wat een mooie plek. Groen, vogeltjes die zingen, waaronder bosuilen, en een ruisende beek. Ons huisje was eenvoudig, maar aangenaam. Vanuit het comfortabele bed hadden we uitzicht op de heuvel aan de overkant. Buiten kon je heerlijk zitten, op tuinstoel of ligbed. Avonds in de schaduw, wel zo prettig als het erg warm is. De eigenaren zijn heel aardig en behulpzaam. Kortom, voor mensen die van rust en natuur houden en die niet uit zijn op de luxe van een viersterrenhotel is het een unieke plek. Wij komen graag nog eens terug.

The value for money is not quite right. The cottage is simple and in need of maintenance (especially on the outside). The wifi (at the main house) didn't work much, if at all (fortunately, these days with 4G and extended data bundles, that's not such a problem). The price is too high for what is delivered.

De prijs/kwaliteit verhouding is niet helemaal in orde. Het huisje is simpel en aan onderhoud toe (zeker aan de buitenkant). De wifi (bij het hoofdhuis) werkte niet of nauwelijks (gelukkig is dat tegenwoordig met 4G en uitgebreide databundels niet zo'n probleem). De prijs is te hoog voor hetgeen geleverd wordt.

In terms of tranquility and location, the cottage completely met expectations. Beautiful area, totally not touristy. Lovely hiking and cycling (E-bikes for rent at Magnolia Bike in Plaisance). The cottage is simple but with all the trimmings. The photo on the site suggests an open view, however, by now there is a large butterfly bush right in front of the cottage, which together with the tall growing ferns created a green wall in front of the window. With the owner's permission, I was able to prune away much of it, allowing for more views and bringing in more light/sun. Unfortunately, the weather was not cooperating so we spent a lot of time inside and were happy with this intervention. The cottage (Cunita) is on the southeast side of the hill, so no afternoon/evening sun, which we found unfortunate. The owners, a young couple Adelie and Jeremy, are very nice and very helpful. All in all, despite the chilly weather (mid-June) we had a wonderful week!

Qua rust en locatie voldeed het huisje volkomen aan de verwachtingen. Mooi gebied, totaal niet toeristisch. Heerlijk wandelen en ook fietsen (E-bikes te huur bij Magnolia Bike in Plaisance). Het huisje is simpel maar wel met alles erop en eraan. De foto op de site suggereert een open uitzicht, echter inmiddels staat er een grote vlinderstruik pal voor het huisje, waardoor samen met de hoog opgroeiende varens er een groen muur voor het raam ontstaan was. Met toestemming van de eigenaar heb ik veel kunnen wegsnoeien waardoor er meer uitzicht was en meer licht/zon naar binnen kwam. Helaas zat het weer niet mee dus hebben we veel binnen gezeten en waren we gelukkig met deze ingreep. Het huisje (Cunita) ligt aan de zuidoost kant van de heuvel, dus geen namiddag/avondzon, wat wij jammer vonden. De eigenaren, een jong stel Adelie en Jeremy, zijn heel aardig en zeer behulpzaam. Al met al hebben we ondanks het frisse weer (midden juni) een heerlijke week gehad!
