Nature house in Oignies-en-Thierache

This beautiful nature house is located in the heart of Viroin-Hermeton nature reserve, known for its rich flora and fauna. Are you good at relaxing in a one-acre private garden, which is crossed by a small river and also has a large pond? Then this cottage is your ideal destination! Spend a romantic stay and fully enjoy the beautiful nature that surrounds this nature house. Concerned about plastic pollution around the world, we decided in January 2019 that our nature house would become a waste-free cabin. In addition to buying only organic products for years, we now buy 90% of our products in bulk (shampoo, dish soap, sugar, etc....). To encourage our tenants to do the same, we decided to make the radical decision to make our home a zero waste home. Specifically, this means that no more garbage/waste will be accepted in the cottage. "Non-protein" organic waste (i.e. no meat or fish) can be thrown in the compost and glass bottles can be thrown in roadside bubble containers. The rest of the waste, if any, should be taken home.

Viroin-Hermeton, a beautiful natural area with exceptional and varied landscapes that surrounds eight cute and traditional Belgian villages. The area is ideally known for its rich flora and fauna. Three geological regions come together in this nature reserve. The peat bogs with its swampy heaths. Also the limestone region with its remarkable landscape of grasslands, deep pits and caves with here and there a protruding rock point joins this area. In addition, you will find the foothills of the Ardennes with its dense forests. This varying landscape accommodates a wide range of activities, such as hiking and cycling, but mountain biking, bird watching and fishing are also excellent here!
