A cozy, comfortable, and well-equipped nature house in the heart of the Frisian Lake District (Natura 2000). A nature house suitable for both summer and winter. It has three bedrooms with comfortable beds. A well-equipped kitchen. A lovely garden. Water sports, hiking, biking, or reading a book by the wood stove: it’s all possible! One bedroom is on the ground floor, where the bathroom is also located. Upstairs are two bedrooms, one of which has a sink. The old staircase was a bit steep, so we’ve replaced it with a new, safe staircase.
Nature and surroundings
The village consists of just one street, a few houses, and a beautiful little church. The cottage is located right by the water—ideal for swimming, canoeing, or sailing. There’s an unobstructed view of the meadows, which are home to many birds. A few hundred meters away is a bird sanctuary that’s home to black-tailed godwits, among other species. In the surrounding area, you can visit all kinds of characteristic Frisian villages and, of course, larger towns such as Sneek, Woudsend, Harlingen, and Franker. You can go on beautiful bike rides, including trips across the water via ferries. A canoe is available for your use.

A beautiful, sweeping view of the meadows from the cottage. The cottage is fully equipped, with comfortable beds. Friendly people.
Heel compleet huisje, fijne bedden. Vriendelijke mensen.

We couldn't sit outside; the grass was too long and too wet at this time of year
a beautiful and cozy home
mooi en gezellig huis

The basic amenities are there, and the kitchen was fully equipped. You can enjoy sitting outside. The unobstructed view from the living room is amazing. It was a great week!
There were five of us, which made the living room feel a bit cramped. The cottage could use some maintenance and cleaning. The upstairs rooms were full of spiders, which made for an uncomfortable night’s sleep. We were on a spider hunt every night.
The cottage is situated in a wonderfully peaceful setting in a charming little village. From the cottage, you have an unobstructed view of the meadows, and you can see sailboats passing by in the distance. It’s a great place for biking and hiking, and there are various water sports options available.
