Nature house in Readtsjerk (Roodkerk)

In this residential farmhouse, the former goat stable has been converted into an apartment / guest house with its own entrance on the garden side, facing south. The nature house is a double accommodation with on the ground floor a fully equipped kitchen with dining table, a sitting area and a bathroom with shower, WC and sink. Radio, TV and Wifi are also provided. The kitchen was equipped last year with a new induction hob, oven, and refrigerator, this year also a freezer. The loft has two single box-spring beds, which can also be made up as one large bed. For guests who have difficulty climbing stairs, there is a (sleeping) couch on the ground floor.On the sunny side of the apartment is a terrace with seating where it is delicious breakfast. A large part of the garden (with gazebo) is shielded for the use of guests. From the nature house and garden guests have a wide view over meadows and woods in the distance.

On the edge of the Frisian Woods, between Leeuwarden and Dokkum, lies the rural town of Readtsjerk (Roodkerk) with its centuries-old church. Less than 50 meters away from it you will find the nature house. The surroundings invite you to go out by bike, walk and/or make beautiful trips by car (maps and route books are available in the modest library). You can enjoy the Frisian countryside with its flora and fauna, panoramic views and the smûke (cozy) of the Trynwâlden, as the region is called. A little further away are the Wadden Sea and the islands with their specific nature. By car you can reach the ferries to Ameland and Schiermonnikoog in half an hour. Close by is the Bûtenfjild nature reserve and the Swarte Broek lake. A bike ride through the fields brings you to the village of Feanwâldsterwâl, where you can eat and drink at the village café, as well as rent canoes and/or whisper boats to explore the area from the water.
