Nature house in Putten

We don’t really have this kind of peace and quiet in Enschede; the experience here was wonderful. On Saturday, I went shopping for a bit in the village of Putten—it was incredibly quiet there. Maybe because of a Code Red alert, or maybe the residents were on vacation. Afterward, I went for a lovely walk in the woods, enjoying the beautiful green surroundings. Suddenly, we spotted a family of wild boars; the six of them crossed the sandy path and headed back into the other side of the forest. Then, all of a sudden, I saw a little fox come running out of the woods. We watched him, and he watched us. I quickly took a photo, and before I knew it, he darted back into the woods. On the second night, we were treated to a violent thunderstorm with loud claps of thunder and flashes of lightning. Still, we just fell asleep. In the morning, we saw an email from Gerda asking if we’d made it through the night okay. Very sweet and thoughtful of the hostess. Back home on Monday—it’s a real shame, but we’ll definitely be back! Thank you, Gerda, for giving us the chance to book this fantastic cottage!

In Enschede hebben we deze rust niet zo, de ervaring hier was geweldig. Zaterdag nog even in het dorp Putten gewinkeld, het was er enorm stil. Vanwege code rood of dat de inwoners met vakantie waren. Daarna heerlijk wandelen in het bos, de mooie groene omgeving. Opeens een familie Wilde Zwijnen zien, ze staken met z’n zessen over het zandpad de andere kant van het bos weer in. Toen opeens zag ik een vosje uit het bos kwamen lopen. We keken naar hem en hij naar ons. Snel een foto gemaakt en voor je het wist dook hij weer het bos in. De tweede nacht werden we getrakteerd op heftige onweer en flinke knallen en bliksem. Toch gewoon in slaap gevallen. ‘s morgens zagen we een email van Gerda met de vraag of we de nacht goed hebben doorstaan. Erg lief en attent van de hostess. Maandag weer terug naar huis, erg jammer maar we komen zeker weer een keer terug! Dankjewel Gerda voor het de mogelijkheid om dit fantastische huisje te kunnen boeken!

Krekeltje is a lovely little cottage—it exceeded our expectations. It was a “Code Red” heatwave in the Netherlands, and we set off in 38-degree heat. Gerda was very friendly and showed us the way to the cottage and the parking lot. As soon as we walked in, it felt wonderfully cool, and the thermometer read 27 degrees. What a beautifully decorated cottage. We had everything we needed: a beautiful sofa (which we covered with towels—it’s always a hassle if our cat were to damage it. Something he’s never actually done, by the way) and comfortable chairs. However, we didn’t spend much time inside because the weather was absolutely gorgeous. We also slept wonderfully at night after taking a shower first. (Weird sentence… but that’s how it is.) The peace and quiet we experienced here was amazing—such silence. In the evenings, we enjoyed sitting outside and listening to the chirping of the many birds all day long. We also saw a wood mouse and some frogs in the pond.

Een heerlijk huisje Krekeltje, het voldeed meer dat aan de verwachtingen die we hadden. Code Rood in Nederland en we gingen met een temperatuur van 38 graden op weg. Gerda was erg vriendelijk en wees ons de weg naar het huisje en de parkeerplaats Bij binnenkomst voelde het heerlijk koel en gaf de thermometer 27 graden aan. Wat een mooi ingericht huisje. Het ontbrak ons ook aan niets, een prachtige bank (deze hebben we met handdoeken afgedekt, is altijd vervelend wanneer onze kater het zou beschadigen. Iets wat hij trouwens nooit heeft gedaan) en heerlijke stoelen. We hebben echter weinig binnen gezeten omdat het geweldig mooi weer was. ‘s nachts ook heerlijk geslapen na ons eerst gedoucht te hebben. (Rare zin .. maar zo is het wel) De rust die we hier ervaarden was super, wat een stilte. ‘s avonds lekker buiten zitten en eigenlijk de hele dag luisteren naar het getjilp van de vele vogels. Ook een bosmuisje en kikkers in de waterplas gezien.

I had a wonderful weekend at this nature house; it’s truly right in the middle of the forest. The only sounds I heard were the birds. The house is very cozy and has a beautiful view of the forest. And the owner, Gerda, was very friendly—if you need anything, she’s right there for you.

Ik heb een heel fijn weekend gehad in dit natuurhuisje, het zit echt midden in het bos. Het enige wat ik hoorde waren de vogeltjes. Het huisje is zeer gezellig ingericht met prachtig uitzicht op het bos. En de eigenaresse Gerda was heel vriendelijk, als er wat is dan is ze er gelijk voor je.

Great stylish cottage in the middle of the forest with a view from the sliding door straight into the forest without seeing people and right out of the house the most beautiful routes for hiking.

Geweldig stijlvol huisje midden in het bos met uitzicht vanuit de schuifpui recht het bos in zonder mensen te zien en direct uit huis de mooiste routes om te wandelen.
