An oasis of peace and nature, in the hilly countryside of the Dordogne. In a valley, at the end of a cul-de-sac, lies the hamlet nature house. Praised by locals for 'la tranquilité'. Around the stately chestnut tree and old well are several buildings: a house, a smaller cottage, a painter's studio and a large barn. The vacation feeling was perfect, the cottages are cozy and both well equipped. Also lots of toys available for the kids. No wifi? It didn't bother us.

You do hear occasional cars on the road on top but you don't see them. Everything breathes the typical southern French atmosphere. My telescope was up every day to admire the apple finches, blackheads, woodpeckers...all around the house. Also kingfishers in the river. It was sometimes very hot but around the river it is immediately 10 degrees cooler, really a great value.

Het was soms heel warm maar rond de rivier is het meteen 10 graden frisser, echt een grote meerwaarde.
