Nature house in Pietersbierum

The nature house is located near the Wadden Sea and a few kilometers from Harlingen and Franeker. It is a very spacious and light cottage where you can enjoy peace and quiet. There is a courtyard where you can sit and e.g. barbecue. The courtyard can be closed with a door and a fence. There is a picnic table and in the large garden you can play soccer, badminton, swing and hide-and-seek to your heart's content. In the nearby Roptavaart or in the Dijksvaart you can fish. In summer, catch crabs at the sea dike. You have access to the entire house and garden. There are two toilets and four bedrooms, where additional cribs can be placed. On the ground floor is one double bedroom. On the second floor there are three bedrooms: one with a double bed and two with two single beds. All beds have single comforters. There is a simple bathroom with shower and sink.

The nature house is located in the middle of the farmlands. There are plenty of birds and hares to see and if you are lucky the deer walk past the windows. The Wadden Sea dyke is about 500 meters as the crow flies and you can see it from the living room. Here you can enjoy the wide view, the fresh sea breeze and the sunset. there is no beach. In Harlingen is a small beach and in Makkum (25 car minutes) a larger beach. In Makkum you can swim and surf in good weather. The water is shallow in the beginning, so very suitable for small children. In the nearby port city of Harlingen (six kilometers) and in Franeker (eight kilometers) you will find plenty of cosiness, restaurants, stores and supermarkets. The ferry departs from Harlingen for a possible visit to the Wadden Islands of Vlieland or Terschelling. The nearest village is Sexbierum (2.5 kilometers). Here there is a bakery, a butcher and a small supermarket. In café De Harmonie and snack bar De Lantaarn you can eat delicious food.
