In the beautiful scenic landscape of the Achterhoek, right next to nature reserve the Stelkampsveld, you will find this nature house in the yard of a beautiful Saxon farmhouse from 1882. A wonderful place for active peace seekers: walking, cycling, nice places, cozy cafes, nature and culture. The nature house has a cozy, compact living room with open kitchen, three bedrooms for up to six people, a complete bathroom, a separate toilet and another shower room with sink. The view from the living room window of the garden and towards the nature reserve is phenomenal. In wet times many water birds can be seen and sometimes even flamingos! The beautiful garden and the attractive yard are shared with the landlord who himself lives in the farm next to the cottage. However, the cottage has its own entrance and two private terraces: one right by the house (partially roofed) and one further down the garden. Bicycles find a safe storage place in the large barn. Please note: no smoking!
Nature and surroundings
This nature house is located in the coulisse landscape of the Achterhoek. If you walk, bike or drive by car here, the view is very beautiful and never the same. There is a great variety with canals, forests, meadows and arable land. The area is ideal for quiet walking and cycling on B-roads and beautiful dirt roads with gravel bike paths along meandering streams, estates and farms. Whether hiking or biking, there are always beautiful trails on your doorstep here. The cottage is located on the bicycle node network (segment 75-62), near the Slinge (with a draw ferry on the Galgenveld) and within walking distance of the Stelkampsveld. A clean, comfortable, spacious, fully equipped, and cozy house, with a friendly owner and pet sitter.
We stayed in the cottage during the heat wave (34/39 degrees). It was 25–27 degrees inside the cottage, but isn’t that the case in every house in the Netherlands? The spacious bedroom and bathroom downstairs stayed wonderfully cool, though. The spacious garden offered plenty of room to find a slightly cooler spot, as the heat tends to linger under the overhangs. Fortunately, we were also able to check in a little earlier.
A wonderfully well-equipped and tidy kitchen with plenty of dishes and pans and options for recycling, a comfortable sofa and dining set, great beds, a very spacious and fully equipped bathroom downstairs, a vacuum cleaner and mop set just in case, etc.

In de hittegolfweek (34/39 graden) zaten wij in t huisje. In t huisje was t 25-27 graden, maar in welk huis niet in NL? De ruime slaapkamer en badkamer beneden bleven wel heerlijk koel. In ruime tuin plek genoeg om toch ietwat koeler plekje op te zoeken want warmte blijft wat hangen onder de overstekken. Gelukkig konden we ook iets eerder in t huis.
Heerlijk complete en nette keuken met genoeg servies en pannen en mogelijkheden vwb afvalscheiden, comfortabele bank en eetkamerset, prima bedden, enorm ruime en complete badkamer beneden, stofzuiger en dweilset voor t geval dat etc.
Wij hebben enorm genoten van alles!!!
