Nature house in Cercal do Alentejo

The farm is located on 2.5 hectares of rolling land, just outside Cercal do Alentejo. There are fruit trees, olive trees, cork oaks and two authentic Alentejan farmhouses, one of which is occupied by the landlords. The nature house is adapted to the comforts of today and is detached. The cottage consists of a living room, bathroom and two bedrooms and is modernly furnished. It has two terraces, one of which is adjacent to the orange grove. The terraces are equipped with garden furniture and a barbecue. The second terrace faces south, in front of the house, where there is always sunshine. The cottage is traditionally built with walls half a meter thick. This keeps the cottage wonderfully cool even on the hottest summer days. There is a variety of farm animals walking around, such as goats, sheep, ducks, chickens (no rooster) and rabbits. The animals all have space and walk in their own pastures. In addition, there are the - in this environment inevitable - pets, which of course do not come into the nature house. The house is rented including everything (gas, water, electricity, wood for the stove and bed, bath and kitchen linen).

The nature house is about a two-hour drive from both Lisbon and Faro. The cottage is 10 kilometers from the still very quiet Atlantic coast with its beautiful beaches and rock formations. Throughout the year the landlords have fresh fruit from the trees. In winter the tangerines, oranges and lemons. In spring cherries, Japanese medlars, peaches, apricots and plums. In summer pears, apples and figs. In the fall, other apples, persimmons and more figs. The nature house is in the middle of nature, among other small-scale farms. The landlords grow vegetables and when there is an abundance of them, they can be eaten along. The property is located on one of the hiking trails of the Rota Vincentina. Within walking distance (15 minutes) from the village of Cercal do Alentejo, where there are stores, banks, restaurants and cafes. From here buses run, which can also access other parts of the rota for you. The whole area consists of hills where forest and agriculture alternate. In the wetter months it is incredibly green here. The spring one flowers, then the dry summer lets everything turn to shades of yellow.
