Supercharming detached nature house in the woods, large south-facing terrace and fireplace. Lovely for a nice cocooning stay in a beautiful natural area where the sun shines until November. Near Cahors and Gourdon. The house has just been renovated and has 2 new bathrooms and a fantastic new kitchen. The sights of the Dordogne are all nearby, but with us it is nice and quiet, because we are just outside the tourist area in a piece of France that is just completely authentic. Five kilometers away is a swimming pool. There are also nearby lakes and a beach for swimming or fishing in the Lot. The nature house is fully equipped: dishwasher, washing machine, well-equipped kitchen, large L-shaped living room with garden doors to the terrace, dining area and writing table, two bedrooms with good beds (Auping) and each with its own bathroom. In the living room there is another sofa bed for two persons.
Nature and surroundings
From the terrace you have a view of garden and forest and you are facing south. Good barbecue, wooden garden furniture, fine canopy. You share the grounds with birds, butterflies and sometimes a deer jumping by. The house is located in the heart of nature reserve Le Quercy which has a rich vegetation. Wonderful walking and cycling area, but you can also swim or fish and canoe in the river Lot, make a wine tour along the many wine castles or visit the museum of the sculptor Zadkine, which is fifteen minutes away. Good markets nearby and delicious regional cuisine. The house is a good base for sightseeing such as Rocamadour, Padirac, Saint-Cirq-Lapopie, Cahors, Figeac, Souillac and Domme. The cottage isn't very big, but it's fully equipped. Everything you need is there. It has a spacious kitchen, comfortable bedrooms, and excellent showers.
We kept the shutters on the windows closed most of the time to keep the heat out and to make it nice and dark at night.
A tip: put screens on the windows and doors to keep the bugs out. Then you can open the windows at night for some fresh air.
Other than that, no complaints. We had a fantastic vacation!!Het huisje is niet zo groot. Maar zeer compleet. Alles wat je nodig hebt is aanwezig. Het heeft een ruime keuken, goede slaapkamers en zeer goede douches.
De luiken voor de ramen hebben we veel dicht gehad voor de warmte en om het in de nacht lekker donker te hebben.
Een tip: voor de ramen en deuren horren om de insecten buiten te houden. Dan kun je in de nacht de ramen openzetten voor wat frisse lucht

De tuin is niet omheind, maar doordat er geen verkeer of mensen langs het huis gaan is dit geen probleem. Onze hondjes hebben 14 dagen los om het huid gescharreld. Aan de overksnt staan koeien, maar daar heb je geen last van. Het andere huisje staat in de buurt, maar was niet bezet toen wij er waren. Dus we hadden alle vrijheid. We hadden wel wat last van steekvliegen en mieren. Maar dat weet je met een natuurhuisje!

Het huis was ruim en voorzien van alle benodigdheden.
Met name het uitzicht vanaf het terras was geweldig. in combinatie met het vele wild en het concert van de vogels, waaronder de wielewaal.

Ligt mooi tussen de bomen met een open zonnig terras. Heerlijke week gehad. Alles aanwezig in huis wat je maar kunt bedenken van broodplank tot strijkbout en het huis is van alle gemakken voorzien. Echt een aanrader.
