Nature house in Manhay

The only areas for improvement we found were the shower. You really have to sit in the tub to avoid getting the whole bathroom wet, because there’s no shower screen or curtain. But other than that, the cottage is fully equipped, and the beds are wonderful (and I don’t say that very often).

Enige verbeterpuntjes vonden wij de douche. Je moet echt gaan zitten in het bad om niet de hele badkamer nat te maken, want er is geen douchescherm of gordijn. Maar verder is het huisje van alle gemakken voorzien en zijn de bedden heerlijk (en dat zeg ik niet snel).

We had a wonderful time. It's a lovely, quiet location for enjoying activities in the area.

The cottage is clean, spacious, and tidy. What we found very bothersome was that the door or window leading to the patio wouldn’t open. This meant there was no direct access between the living room and the patio. The landlord was aware of this, but we weren’t told about it at check-in. It was hot this week, and because this door wouldn’t open, it was difficult to let the heat out of the house—especially in the morning when the sun was shining on the other windows that do open. The landlord brushed this off by saying that the other doors do open. We didn’t appreciate the way this was handled. We asked for this to be resolved, but it never went beyond a promise. Looking back, we saw this same issue mentioned in a review from a few years ago. Another point of concern is the shower. You can only shower while sitting in the tub. We could have seen this in the photo, but it didn’t really occur to us.

Het is huisje is schoon, ruim en netjes. Wat we als erg storend hebben ervaren is dat de deur of raam naar het terras niet open kon. Daarmee was er geen verbinding tussen woonkamer en terras. Dat was bekend bij de verhuurder, maar werd ons bij het inchecken niet verteld. Het was warm deze week en doordat dit niet open kon was het lastig de warmte uit het huis te krijgen. Vooral in de ochtend als de zon op de andere ramen staat die wel open kunnen. Verhuurder doet dit af met de opmerking dat de andere deuren wel open kunnen. We vonden de communicatie hierover niet prettig. We hebben verzocht dit op te lossen, verder dan een toezegging is het niet gekomen. Achteraf lezen we dit probleem ook in een review van een paar jaar geleden. Verder aandachtspunt is de douche. Je kunt alleen zittend in bad douchen. Hadden we kunnen zien op de foto, maar ons niet zo gerealiseerd.

Thank you for the review. Regarding the window that opens onto the patio: this is indeed a window and not a door (see photos). The threshold to step over is approximately 45 cm high and 50 cm wide. It’s impossible to clear this in a single step, so guests would have to step on the wooden window frame, which could result in damage and falls. Access to the patio is perfectly possible through the back door. You can ventilate the space through several windows that open outward. See also the many other positive reviews.

Bedankt voor de review. In verband met het raam dat uitgeeft op het terras. Dit is dus weldegelijk een raam en geen deur (zie foto’s). De drempel om hierdoor/over te stappen is +/-45cm hoog en 50cm breed. Onmogelijk om dit in 1 stap te doen dus er zou op het houten raamkozijn getrapt worden met beschadegingen en valpartijen tot gevolg. Toegang tot het terras kan perfect via de achterdeur. Verluchten kan via meerdere opendraaiende ramen. Zie ook vele andere posieve reviews.
