The nature house is located in the Creuse department in the Limousin region. The Creuse department is named after the river of the same name that runs through it. In this green and sparsely populated area countless small rivers flow through the landscape of hills, wooded banks and groves. The Creuse is therefore known as the green heart of France. In this region you will not find large-scale tourist attractions. It is a region where you can enjoy life in the French countryside and nature. The entire Limousin is a watery area. There are several large lakes. A good example is the huge lake of Vassieviere where various water sports can be practiced. But Lac de Lavaud-Gelade is also well worth a visit and is only nine kilometers away from the nature house. While swimming and fishing on the wooded shores of the lake, the day glides by quietly. Especially on Sundays you will find many a Frenchman spending the day there with his family enjoying, among other things, a sumptuous lunch. Central to the region is the Plateau de Millevaches. This somewhat cooler plateau is often the source of many streams and rivers that cross the region.
