Nature house in Cortona

pleasant stay, good facilities, plenty of space, beautiful views, nice villages nearby. The way there was an experience every time and walking caused many drops of sweat

prettig verblijf, goede voorzieningen, genoeg ruimte, prachtig uitzicht, leuke dorpjes in de buurt. De weg ernaar toe was iedere keer weer een belevenis en lopend zorgde hij voor vele zweetdruppels

The area is wonderfully quiet, the view is beautiful. There is plenty of space around the house to play. The chickens provide delicious fresh eggs every day. The house itself is spacious and well cared for.

De omgeving is heerlijk rustig, het uitzicht is prachtig. Er is veel ruimte om het huis om te spelen. De kippen zorgen elke dag voor lekkere verse eitjes. Het huis zelf is ruim en goed verzorgd.

Built with natural stones, so cool in summer. Spacious in design, four (spacious) bedrooms, 2 with private bathroom. Kitchen is spacious and reasonably fully equipped with plenty of pans, etc, dishwasher and washing machine. 5-burner gas stove, refrigerator, all fat in order. Cons: pretty hard beds, not very comfortable. Lots of flies, and that can be quite a nuisance. Keeping doors closed keeps too many from coming in. But we really had dozens inside and outside, at all times of the day. The pool is a lot higher than the house and that is reassuring with small children, they don't just walk up to it. The pool is beautiful on the hill with so fantastic views, and it's big!!!

Met natuurstenen gebouwd, dus koel in de zomer. Ruim van opzet, vier (ruime) slaapkamers waarvan 2 met eigen badkamer. Keuken is ruim en redelijk compleet ingericht met voldoende pannen, etc, vaatwasser en wasmachine. 5-pitsgasfornuis, koelkast, allemaal dik in orde. Nadelen: vrij harde bedden, niet heel comfortabel. Veel vliegen, en dat kan behoorlijk hinderlijk zijn. Deuren dichthouden zorgt ervoor dat er niet teveel binnen komen. Maar wij hadden er echt tientallen binnen en buiten, op elk moment van de dag. Het zwembad ligt een stuk hoger dan het huis en dat is met kleine kinderen geruststellend, ze lopen er niet zomaar naartoe. Het zwembad ligt schitterend op de heuvel met dus fantastisch uitzicht, en het is groot!!

The house (because it is not a cottage!) is 3 km mostly unpaved road up from the main road. Even in high season you sit here in peace and quiet! The house has a huge lawn on one side which runs up against the mountain. Children can play safely here. The house is on a hill / mountain and thus has beautiful views over the valley. Environment is mountainous / hilly. With small children we have not done much. In the immediate vicinity (approx 1 hour drive) several towns to visit. But it liht really remote so you need a car to get anywhere. Cycling is also possible but a mountain bike is useful, given the state of the road.

Het huis (want het is geen huisje!) ligt op 3 km grotendeels onverharde weg omhoog van de doorgaande weg. Zelfs in het hoogseizoen zit je hier in alle rust! Het huis heeft aan een kant een enorm grasveld wat omhoog loopt tegen de berg. Kinderen kunnen hier veilig hun gang gaan. Het huis ligt dus op een heuvel/berg en heeft dus schitterende uitzichten over het dal. Omgeving is bergachtig/heuvelachtig. Met kleine kinderen hebben wij verder niet veel gedaan. In de directe omgeving (plm 1 uur rijden) diverse stadjes te bezoeken. Maar het liht echt afgelegen dus je moet met de auto om ergens te kunnen komen. Fietsen kan ook maar een mountainbike is dan wel handig, gezien de staat van de weg.
