Nature house in Thurey

A beautiful nature house in the beautiful surroundings of Burgundy. In Burgundy between the Jura Mountains and the Morvan, lies the small village of Thurey, where around the year 1130 one Willelmus de Thurium settled. The huge trees on the grounds testify to a long history. After a fire, the current nature house was built in 1770. The estate has an area of 10 acres. The estate also includes a three-acre lake with an island that can be reached by rowboat. The lake can be used for swimming and fishing for many species of fish including pike, carp and catfish. The coach house has a large entrance hall, where you can eat right next to the kitchen and bathroom, furthermore a living room and a bedroom with a partition, where on one side there is a double bed and on the other side two single beds. To the front and rear are two beautiful sun terraces.

Thurey is an eight-hour drive from the Netherlands. The landscape here is hilly and good for walking and cycling. The owner is a painter / sculptor and has a beautiful indoor and outdoor studio, which you may also use (please bring your own materials). There is also a meditation pit, in which there are three stone benches located around a pond. Nearby you can visit cities like Louhans with its famous Monday morning animal market, Chalon sur Saone, the vineyards around Beaune, Tournus and Macon. Hiking and cycling maps are available in the coach house. Non-aggressive four-legged friends are welcome.
