Nature house in Stroe

The attractive, picturesque nature house is located in the vast forest and heathland area of Boswachterij Kootwijk (5000 hectares) on the west side of the Stroeërheide. Here you really go back to basics, so do not expect luxury accommodation. The furnishings are dated to create a real hut atmosphere. The attic is not suitable for the elderly. The cabin is located in the northwestern part of the forestry, in a private forest plot of over five acres that is closed to the public. Wild boar, deer and red deer also use it. It is a unique opportunity for the true nature lover to spend an unforgettable vacation. The cabin has a sitting area with natural stone fireplace and wood stove, a dining and kitchen area with sink, gas stove, geyser and small refrigerator, an open sleeping loft for two people and a double bedroom. There is also a bathroom with shower, sink and toilet. In the kitchenette there are plenty of pans, cutlery and crockery. Lighting is provided by a solar panel (12V) and kerosene lamps. On the lawn in front of the cottage there is a barbecue area and picnic bench. Garden chairs are available. A maximum of two additional persons can be booked. The loft is not suitable for the elderly or people with mobility problems. It is about "hut on the heath" for lovers who seek this and is thus the only one within middle Veluwe. As in the village of Stroe, you can hear (depending on wind direction) the distant road and train. Note: for reservation in the next year is again possible from November 1.

As of May 2007, this the forest plot has been designated as an official estate under the Natural Beauty Act. You can walk, bike and unwind in the area, enjoying the beautiful nature. It is located in the closed wildlife area, which has the consequence that deer, red deer and wild boar can occur up to near the nature house. Dogs are allowed, but you must respect the presence of (coarse) game with, especially in spring, required peace and quiet.
