Nature house in Easterlittens

The second floor of this nature house has a spacious living room with cozy fireplace, toilet and a fully equipped kitchen. Where people used to sleep behind doors, you can now prepare a meal in the fully equipped kitchen. On the second floor is a spacious bedroom with a double bed; a small bedroom with two single beds and a bathroom with shower, sink and second toilet. The fireplace has also been restored with Frisian four-pass tiles. Because the upstairs room is above the milk cellar, you have a generous view over the meadows with the village of Easterlittens in the distance. The village of Easterlittens lies at the junction of the Bolswarder and Franeker canals. The distance to Bolsward, Leeuwarden and Sneek is about the same, 15 kilometers. These cities offer a wide range of cultural and culinary adventures. For nature lovers, it is nice to know that Skrins is also the name of Natuurmonumenten's meadow bird area.

The dairy farmers with plots surrounding the nature reserve provide proper pre- and post-harvest care for the meadow birds and their chicks. In spring and summer, the air vibrates and buzzes with lapwings, godwits, redshanks, curlews and oystercatchers. At the nearby dairy farm, green energy is generated by sun and wind.
