This nature house in Benissa is ideal for 2 people but can accommodate up to four. The cottage is very rural about 150 meters from the place where cars can be parked. From this place a donkey trail leads to the characteristic nature house. Its location guarantees peace and almost unlimited privacy. It is a restored sheepfold that consists of a living room, a sleeping loft for two upstairs (it is located above the dining area), a kitchen, a bathroom and a bedroom. The interior of the house is modern, but preserving the ancient materials and elements. Around this nature house there are 20 acres of untouched nature and cultivated land. So you are actually renting not just the nature house, but your own finca! In autumn and winter, guests receive four bags of pellets for the stove. Should more be needed after this, you can buy it for €6,50 per bag.
Nature and surroundings
Refugio Marnes is located in a mountainous, Mediterranean landscape rich in biodiversity. The slopes are covered with thyme, rosemary, lavender, holm oaks and carob trees. Almond and olive trees mark the centuries-old cultural landscape. In spring, the almonds bloom profusely. The area is home to wild boar, maned sheep (a rare wild sheep with distinctive neck hairs), foxes, badgers and genets. Bird lovers can spot species such as eagles, bee-eaters, golden orioles and little owls. Lizards, geckos and sometimes even chameleons also show themselves among the stone walls. The area is quiet, pristine and has a clear starry sky. An ideal place to unwind, hike and reconnect with nature.
