If you are looking for peace and privacy, this nature house in the heart of France is a must! At about 800 kilometers from Utrecht, this nature house is quietly situated in the hills of the Allier with unobstructed views all around. The stone house (1816) with many authentic elements, such as well and bread oven, is located on a small dead end country road. Both front and back have unobstructed views over the hills. A rural garden with a choice of several terraces surrounds the house. It is simple but attractively furnished and fully equipped. It has spacious and bright rooms and offers all the necessary amenities. It is a wonderful, quiet place for nature lovers. The hoopoe, kingfisher and golden oriole; it all flies there. A small colony of bee-eaters breeds in the nearby stream. From the garden you can watch the aerial acrobats. And on a sunny day the wall lizards accompany you, dwelling in the cracks of the natural stone walls.
Nature and surroundings
The Allier is a quiet, rural region, where there is still something to discover and you won't be tripping over your compatriots. Its bocage landscape with its rolling hills is the setting for Romanesque churches, castle ruins and sleeping villages. A little to the south you will find an ancient volcanic landscape and the landscape becomes more mountainous. Hikers, cyclists, nature lovers and bird watchers are sure to find what they are looking for. The cozy village of Villefranche d'Allier with all necessary amenities is two kilometers away. There is also a swimming and water sports lake nearby. The area lends itself well to hiking and cycling. But there is much more to do, for example, a day out with the canoe in the valley of the Allier is a must. The bee-eater regularly comes flying over. But you can also spend a day at an amusement park or zoo, visit a castle, stroll along one of the many flea markets or visit the theme park Vulcania.
